Laurie Forbes Neff

Laurie Forbes Neff is an experienced, savvy family law attorney that handles a full range of family law matters, including divorce, custody and visitation, child support, premarital and postnuptial agreements, property distribution, and step-, second parent and close relative adoptions. She accepts cases in Washington, DC; Fairfax County, the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, and other counties bordering Northern Virginia. 

Laurie believes in a common sense approach to family law and successfully resolves the majority of her cases through negotiation or mediation; preferring to place the practical resolution above the emotional and is successful in guiding her clients in the direction that makes the most sense, both emotionally and economically.

Although she has a well-earned reputation for negotiating favorable outcomes outside the courtroom, through informal negotiations or by mediating cases, she is a strong litigator that won't hesitate to head into the courtroom when necessary.

Laurie graduated from Towson University in Maryland, and then obtained her law degree, cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law. After graduation she clerked for the judges of the 4th Judicial Circuit in Virginia, and then built her career in litigation and family law being associated with several firms, and as a the Director of the Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Clinic and Clinical Professor of Law at the then, George Mason University School of Law (now the Antonin Scalia School of Law).

She is admitted to practice law in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Ms.Neff is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association, the Loudoun County Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Virginia Women Attorney's Association (Northern Virginia).
